NODAWAY, MO (2010-4-29) A coalition in Nodaway County is still seeking the approval of city residence to ban smoking in all work places.
The group hoped to go before voters in June, but fall just a little short. They currently have almost 1,200 signatures, but needs around 700 more to ensure a spot on the ballot. Spokesperson for the Smoke Free Coalition Teri Harr says the group is facing challenges and may not be on the ballot until November. The coalition will present a media campaign through out the County in May to express the health risk associated with second hand smoke.
