MARYVILLE, MO (2010-4-8) An administrator at the University in Maryville who's had a state-wide impact on Missouri's education is announcing his retirement.
Dr. Max Ruhl is the dean of Northwest Missouri State University's college of education and human services. After 35 years in the education industry, he will be retiring on July 1st. The president of the University, Dr. John Jasinski, calls Ruhl's contribution to education "Beyond Description". Ruhl has been a lead in the "Building Bridges" program, which is constructing better relationships between public schools and colleges and universities to help students transition into college. At Northwest he's served as chair of the educational leadership department, and has been dean of the college since 1997. His wife Lynn will continue serving with the University's advancement office and the Northwest foundation.
