MOUND CITY, MO (2010-4-23) The Mound City board of aldermen have renewed the trash contract for the city.
By a unanimous vote stuart disposal will continue trash service at the current rate. It's been the hauler for Mound City since 1994. The City is also moving ahead on getting a warning siren. A recent mobile demonstration proved disappointing, as the siren tested couldn't be heard from several locations around town. Mound City is working with the Northwest Missouri regional council of governments to draw up bid specifications. The city is also checking into options for its police force to run license checks on motorists. The cost from the Holt County Sheriff's department to use the current system doubled to $1,000 from last year.
