Savannah, MO (2009-05-07) The Savannah City Council narrowly approves a contract to be voting members of the Great Northwest Wholesale Water Commission.
That's the group that has worked for years to come up with a public water distribution plan for Northwest Missouri counties.
Government entities are being asked now to join the commission, granting them voting membership as the project moves forward.
At this week's meeting the Savannah City Council members discussed the benefits of joining as voting members.
Council members Ron Steele and Connie George voted against, council members Greg Gabler and Curtis
Wandfluh (wand-flu) both voted for membership. The tie was broken by Mayor Kretzer and the motion carried.
