Gallatin, MO (2009-05-05) The former owner of Gallatin Grain Company now faces 22 felony counts of stealing grain.
Daniel Froman and his company have been under investigation for months after dozens of grain owners complained they weren't getting paid.
An audit last September allegedly found Froman had filed false reports with the Missouri Department of Agriculture.
This February Ag Department investigators alleged all grain stored at the Gallatin Grain Company had been sold without the consent of the owners storing the grain there.
Also in February the company voluntarily surrendered its dealer license and closed.
In March more than a hundred claims against the Gallatin Grain Company were filed with the Missouri Department of Agriculture.
A hearing has been set for May 28th.
