Prokes
Maysville, MO (2009-05-07) Andrew County recently conducted a sobriety checkpoint.
Twelve troopers were assigned to the four-hour
Operation. Two-hundred fifty-five vehicles came into the
checkpoint.
The outcome of the sobriety checkpoint resulted in one
driver arrested for driving while intoxicated and another
arrested for being a minor in possession of alcohol.
The troopers issued summons to four drivers without
driver's licenses.
Ninety-three warnings were given to motorists for minor
violations. Captain Duane L. Robinson states: "not only are the
checkpoints an effective means to arrest intoxicated drivers,
but also other arrests are made based on violations found by
officers."
