MARYVILLE, MO (2009-05-14) The plan to fix two of Maryville's most damaged streets is on hold…. But that could mean more money for other street repairs in the City.
That's according to Mayor Chad Jackson.
He says engineering specs are complete for both 16th Street and Depot Street…. But the City is waiting to see if it will be getting federal stimulus dollars it applied for.
Repairing the streets before the federal stimulus arrives would jeopardize that money.
But Jackson says because they have to wait, the 3 million dollars in repairs on both 16th and Depot Streets won't happen this year.
Jackson says it's worth the wait because if the City lands the stimulus money, it will have that amount for other streets in Maryville like North Main and South Munn that need repair.
