MIAA makes new additions official

The MIAA officially welcomed its newest associate members to the league Monday afternoon.

Newman University of Wichita, KS and Rogers State of Claremore, OK will each compete in the conference in 14 NCAA sports.

The MIAA now features 12 fulltime members to go along with the additions of Newman and Rogers.

Newman is no stranger to the league. The Jets have been members of the conference in wrestling since 2013.

Rogers just added an athletic department to the university in 2005, and was approved for NCAA Division 2 membership in 2011 after competing in the NAIA.

The first trip to either Newman or Rogers for any program in the Northwest Missouri State University athletic department comes on October 27 as the women's soccer team travels to Wichita to face the Jets.
