A pair of Bearcats made the cut as the Bevo Francis Award Watch List was trimmed from 100 to 50.

The Bevo Francis Award is given to the top small college basketball player in the country.

Northwest senior Joey Witthus and freshman Trevor Hudgins were the only teammates on the list.

Witthus leads the Bearcats with 21.4 points per game and is shooting 52-percent from the field. He's eclipsed 30 points five times this season, and is sixth in NCAA Division 2 from long range, hitting 48.1-percent on three-point field goal attempts.

Hudgins is putting up 18.9 points per game, and is tops in the MIAA with 5.7 assists per contest. Hudgins is hitting 52.1-percent of his shot attempts, and has made 33 consecutive free throws.

The 2017 Bevo Francis Award went to Northwest point guard Justin Pitts.

The Bevo Francis Watch List will be cut down to 25 on March 15, and finalists will be announced April 6.
