Northwest Missouri State basketball returns home for the first time in nearly three weeks for a matchup with Pittsburg State.

At 19-0 and 9-0 in the MIAA, the Bearcats remain atop the conference, while the Gorillas are 14-5 and 7-3 in the MIAA – one of three teams tied for third place in the conference.

Northwest has been dominant throughout the season with the best scoring margin in the country, outscoring its opposition by 23.9 points on average.

Pittsburg State boasts an offense that puts up more than 85 points per game and the MIAA's top two leading scorers Grant Loyoza (24.2 points per game) and Donovan Franklin (22.2 points per game).

"They've got two kids that score the majority of their points and they're very difficult to defend," Northwest head coach Ben McCollum said. "They take care of the basketball, so it'll be a fun game."

The Bearcats have won their last seven meetings against the Gorillas.

Thursday's games against Pittsburg State begin with the women's contest at 5:30pm, followed by the men at 7:30pm. Pregame on KXCV 90.5 and KRNW 88.9 begins at 5:10pm.
