Maryville City Council holds strategic plan meeting

The Maryville City Council held a strategic planning session for fiscal year 2020 during their meeting earlier this week. Assistant City Manager Ryan Heiland says the discussion centered on what's been accomplished during the past year.

"It's great to be able look back on the past year and review everything that's been accomplished and everything that we've done.  All of things that we find that we deal with early in the year and you just kind of forgot and you go, "Oh yeah, we did that!"  So it's great for us and the City Council to do that.  And then really the second part of that is looking for this next year and seeing what goals are still out there and kind of what direction City Council wants to push the City in based on everything that's been accomplished."

Heiland says the city council will discuss goals for the 2020 fiscal year during their August 26th meeting. The deadline to have the fiscal year 2020 budget in place is October 1st.
