Nodaway County Historical Society offers ice cream and displays new exhibit

The Nodaway County Historical Society will give area residents a chance to discover the museum's treasures this Saturday. Museum representatives will be on a float in the Nodaway County Parade, then from 2-4 p.m. homemade ice cream with cake and pie will be served at the museum at 110 North Walnut Street. Events and display coordinator Cathy Palmer says The Bandstands of Bands of Nodaway County will be a new display available for viewing.

"Over the years, in Nodaway County, each community had a band and a band stand.  They were community bands.  We've been digging up pictures and information. We'll have a display of the different bands through the years.  Very few of the bandstands are left."

This Saturday's event at the Nodaway County Historical Society Museum in Maryville will be held this Saturday afternoon from two to four o'clock.
