Work suspended on MO Route 148 & U.S.71

Construction work on Missouri Route 148 between the Iowa State line and U.S. 71 near Maryville has been suspended.  According to a report from the Missouri Department of Transportation, due to scheduling issues, Herzog Contracting has temporarily suspended the project. The contract calls for 14 miles of resurfacing.  They have completed work from Iowa to Hopkins and plan to return to finish paving the southern portion in one to two weeks, weather permitting.
When crews return, work will take place during daylight hours, five days per week with some work to occur on weekends, if necessary, to complete the project on schedule by the end of June.
