A 34-year-old Maryville resident was arrested following a multi-jurisdictional investigation that began in February. According to Nodaway County Sheriff Randy Strong, Chanel Traci Huff was arrested on numerous drug charges following a traffic stop in Glenwood, Iowa on February 2nd. During that arrest, one pound of methamphetamine and approximately 7 thousand 800 dollars in U.S. currency was located. Strong says a search of her residence in Maryville then took place by local law enforcement.

"We conducted a search warrant here in her Maryville apartment with the assistance of Maryville police and during that search we found $15,000 is U.S. currency, methaamphetamine, mushrooms, LSD, drug paraphernalia and a loaded handgun.  It's my understanding that this case caught the attention of federal authorities.  We were asked to sit on this information while they conducted a further investigation."

Huff is currently awaiting a federal court hearing.  In addition to the Nodaway County Sheriff's Department and Maryville Public Safety, the investigation included the Mills County, Iowa Sheriff's Department, the Glenwood, Iowa Police Department, Southwest Iowa Narcotics Enforcement Task Force and the Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement.
