Maryville Library summer reading programs to begin May 28th

The Maryville Public Library will begin their youth summer reading program on May 28th. The library is also holding a summer reading program for adults. Director Stephanie Patterson says it is a good way for both children and their parents to get involved with reading over the summer and to encourage people to push themselves more on a literary level.

"They get to be the example for the kids that we need for them to be.  When parents read, or any caregiver, they show them that it's an enjoyable activity, not just a shore.  That mentoring and that example is just so important."

Participants will recieve different kinds of rewards for each book they finish. The summer reading program will go from May 28th to July 31st. For those interested in joining either program, they can go to the Maryville Public Library to sign up.
