Jefferson Board of Ed discussed budget, inspection, purchases, and audit

The Jefferson Board of Education met earlier this week. The Board discussed the health inspection which had no major findings. The board approved the purchase of a carpet extractor to stop hiring out the service. Superintendent for the Jefferson School District, Tim Jermain, says the projected end of the year balance will include several projects.

"Right now we're projected to spend $200,000.  We did some building projects.  Plus, we are purchasing a new bus.  The projected budget at the beginning of the year was $225,000 deficit budget and we're projecting it at $200,000 right now.  As far as our state and federal revenues, they're coming in as expected."

The board also approved to enter an argeement with Marsh, Espey & Merrill to conduct an audit on July 14th.
The next regular meeting will be Wednesday, June 26th at 6 p.m. in the School Library.
