Farmers Market to kick off this Saturday

The fourth annual Maryville Farmers Market hosted by the Maryville Host Lions Club kicks off this weekend.
The market will be open from 7:30 a.m. to noon each Saturday through September.  Spokesman for the Maryville Host Lions Club Sam Mason says the market has grown over the last three years.

"Each year we grow just a little bit bigger.  We typically have anywhere between 10 to 18 vendors per month.  We usually have somewhere between 250 and 300 patrons that come through every single week.  Last year was a littl off because it was such a long hot dry summer that a lot of the produce just wasn't there that people normally see.  But this year, we're predicting a little bit more normal growing conditions, so we can expect to see a lot more produce this year."

The Maryville Farmers Market will be at the corner of 4th and Buchanan Streets from 7:30 a.m. to noon each Saturday starting tomorrow.
