Approval pending from Governor for wind farm tax revenue bill

One of the bills approved by the Missouri General Assembly during the past session keeps tax revenues generated by wind farm projects to stay in the counties where the wind farms are located. The bill was sponsored by 1st District State Representative Allen Andrews, a Republican from Grant City.  Andrews says the bill will have a direct affect on several counties in northwest Missouri.

"Right now as of this time, there are no official publicaly owned wind farms in Missouri.  They're all just privately owned.  But Ameren, which is a large public utility, they are coming in and have already signed the purchase agreements to secure three wind farms in northwest Missouri.  So I'm very grateful to get that bill through."

The bill is now awaiting Govenor Mike Parson's signature.  If signed, it will become law on August 1st.
