Andrew County man is serious condition after crash

An Andrew County man is in serious condition after a two vehicle accident Tuesday that occured in Southbound U.S. 71, 10 miles northwest of Savannah. According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, 34-year-old Ravenwood resident, Ryan Eckstein, driving a commercial dump truck and 39-year-old Rosendale resident, Derek Holt, driving a tractor were both southbound on U.S. 71. Holt was partially on the shoulder and roadway when Eckstein crested a hill and attemped to slow down but collided with Holt's tractor. Holt was ejected from the tractor and both vehicles came to an uncontrolled stop off the west side of the roadway. Holt was transported by Andrew County EMS to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph.
