A-43-year-old Hopkins resident has been arrested following a narcotic and firearm related investigation. Nodaway County Sheriff Randy Strong says Nathan J. Blane was charged with seven felony counts by Nodaway County Prosecuting Attorney Bob Rice.

"...which include delivery of a controlled substance, unlawful use of a weapon when possessing a controlled substance, exhibiting a weapon, and drug paraphernalia.  Sergeant Hamn and K9 Bolt located Blane operating a vehicle.  They conducted a traffic stop on him without incident.  Blane was in possession of a glock 9 millimeter pistol and some other items that will be submitted to the lab for consideration and charges."

Strong says the investigation began following calls from other residents near Hopkins.

"We had several complaints that took deputies out to that residence.  Several of them involved firearms and shots fired.  We realized that this was somebody that we needed to look at really hard and put a case together on."

Blane is currently being held in the Nodaway County Jail and bond has been set at 30 thousand dollars.
