Maryville City Council approves purchase of snowplow

The Maryville City Council met earlier this week and approved a grant application for the purchase of a new snow plow to be used at the Northwest Missouri Regional Airport. Assistant City Manager Ryan Heiland says money from the grant comes from the Missouri Department of Transportation.

"We were able to use those funds and start the process of purchasing a one-ton bule-axle pickup truck with a nine-foot snow plow on that.  So that's a big item for us in terms of operations at the airport as well as the city with that.  Ten percent matching fund for that so maximum that the city is going to have to spend on a brand-new truck and snowplow is going to be around $8500."

Hieland also says the Maryville City Council approved a request from the Maryville Public Arts Committee to hold their annual Arts, Rhythm and Brews event and a request to hold the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run/Walk.
