Conception Abbey & Seminary College started campaign to raise money

Conception Abbey and Seminary College has started a campaign to raise money towards building a new residence hall for their seminaries and providing care for their aging monks. Director of Development Jenny Huard says the campaign will be beneficial to their seminarians for years to come.

"We are looking to raise 14.5 million dollars.  Four point five of that is for our monastic retirement endowment to help our elderly monks and to allow our young monks to focus on all of other ministries and finances.  The ten million will also go toward a new seminary residence hall.  That is to replace our current seminary residence hall.  We have two.  So the seminarians are housed in two separate buildings that have served us wonderful for the last 100 years, but are in need of repair.  So it only seemed right to look to update those facilities.  We also want to get all our seminarians living under one roof to help with our formation program and strengthen that. We're able to achieve that by building this facility."
