The Albany Board of Aldermen met earlier this week. Agenda items included swearing in Bobby Smith as South Ward Alderman, incumbent Kris Hansel as North Ward Alderman, and Alderman Manley Tillison was unanimously elected as President of the Board. Resolution 2-19 also passed unanimously authorizing the withdrawal of membership from Midwest Public Risk. City Administrator for city of Albany, Derek Brown, says the board will be exploring other available options.
"..which is a self-insured, public entity pool that we obtained our employee health insurance from, so we'll be leaving their membership at the end of June and getting our health insurance elsewhere."
