The Lied Public Library in Clarinda, Iowa has announced plans for this year's outdoor concert series. Library Director Andrew Hoppman says the outdoor concert series is a monthly event.

"We generally try to host from April to September.  And on the third Saturday of the month at 2:00 p.m., we have a concert.  We try to have a variety of performers and we have that outside in our outdoor performance area."

Hoppman adds the opening concert will feature The Real Beals, an all live mechanical one man band.

"If you have ever seen the people when they have the drum on their back and the symbols and the guitar and a harmonica.  They stomp their feet to beat the drums and things like that.   That's what they'll be bringing.  The Real Beals is, like I said, the mechanical one man band, but it's also a husband and wife team.  Jeff wears the custom backpack and drum kit and plays the guitar.  And his wife Nancy joins him on vocals so they will come.  They've played at many fairs and festivals throughout the Midwest.  They mainly feature country and rock-n-roll hits back to the 50's all the way to the present."

The concert will be held on April 20th at 2 p.m. at the library's outdoor performance area. For more information call the Lied Public Library in Clarinda at 712-542-2416.
