Coach Rosewell hits milestone with the tennis teams' Sunday victories

Northwest Missouri State University head tennis coach Mark Rosewell hit the 1100 mark in coaching victories last Sunday.  Northwest played Emporia State on Sunday, March 17th and both the men and women finished with a 5-2 win.

In the women's matches, the doubles teams of Teruel/Ferrando were first while Recuenco/Grozdanovic were third.  In singles competition, the Bearcats were 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th with Irene Recuenco leading the group in 2nd.  Ferrando was 3rd, Aliseda was 4th, and Grozdanovic was 6th.  The women's team are now 8-2 overall and 2-0 in the MIAA.

On the men's side, the doubles team of Calloud/Compas placed 3rd.  Bearcat Franco Oliva led the team in first place in the singles competition, followed by Calloud in 2nd, Velasco in 3rd, Compas in 5th, and Kurtze in 6th.  The men's team is 5-3 overall and 1-0 in the MIAA.

Northwest will have two home matches this week.  On Wednesday, March 20th, the Bearcats take on UMKC.  On Thursday, March 21st, they play Washburn (a schedule change).  Both meets will be at the Frank Grub Tennis Courts on the Northwest campus.
