Fatal accident in Atchison County

A Wasola, Missouri man was killed in an Atchison County Missouri accident on Route N, 6 miles southeast of Tarkio yesterday afternoon. According to the report from the Missouri Highway Patrol, 51-year-old Tommy Swisher was southbound on Route N when he travelled off the west side of the roadway. He overcorrected and began to skid and struck several large pieces of concrete causing the vehicle to overturn. Swisher was ejected from the vehicle and was not wearing a seatbelt. He was pronounced dead at Fairfax Community Hosptial. The accident was investigated by the Missouri Highway Patrol, Atchison County Sheriff's Department, and Atchison-Holt EMS.
