Northwest Medical Center announces improvements and renovations

Beginning Monday, Northwest Medical Center in Albany will close the temporary emergency room entrance and open the new and improved emergency department entrance on the southeast side of the hospital campus. President of Northwest Medical Center, Jon Doolittle says this is a three phase project and they have officially completed phase one.

"Phase 1 was the construction of a new radiology area with a new cat scanner, relocation of our new X-ray machine, and then a new pedestrian entrance and ambulance entrance to our emergency department at our hospital."

Doolittle says patrons of the Northwest Medical Center in Albany will begin to see other improvements to their facility as well .

"We have a new waiting room just off the emergency department and then in a couple more weeks, we'll open up a new nurses' station that is shared by the emergency department and by our general medical floor at the hospital.  But for now, the emergency department nurses' station remains in the its previous location until we finish renovations of the new one.  But the waiting area, radiology, the nice newly-covered drop offs and ambulance entrance are all big improvements to our emergency department."

In addition to improvements at the Northwest Medical Center in Albany, Family Care at the Grant City Clinic will be closed through tomorrow and will reopen Monday at their new location at 307 East Second Street in Grant City.
