Conception Abby Giving Tuesday Event

Conception Abbey and Tri-C Partners for Progress will help northwest Missouri families this year on November 27th in celebration of Giving Tuesday. Conception Abbey and Seminary College Director of Communications Kaity Holtman says Giving Tuesday encourages philanthropy in the holiday season.

"Again this year we're going to help 8 families that we've adopted in the local region, mostly in Nodaway and Gentry counties.  On November 27th, which is Giving Tuesday, we will get together here at Conception Abbey from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.  The people who come are from mostly the local area and they'll be bringing donations for those adopt-a-family."

Holtman also says donations are not the only way to give back.

"We'll also be making blankets and stuffing teddy bears this year, and wrapping the gifts that they bring, decorating Christmas trees.  Basically just pulling together to make Christmas extra special this year for these eight families that we've adopted."

This year's Giving Tuesday event will begin at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, November 27th in the Saint Raphael Welcome Center on the campus of Conception Abbey. To make a contribution to the Giving Tuesday campaign visit www.ConceptionAbbey.org . Donated items can be dropped off at Conception Abbey through Friday, December 7th.
