United Way fundraiser to support Nodaway County agencies

United Way of Nodaway County has kicked off its annual fund raising campaign.  The organization is partnering with 12 different agencies.  Organizers say funds raised in Nodaway County stay in the county to support education, health and the financial stability of local organizations and residents.  Secretary and Treasurer of United Way of Nodaway County Tiffany Whipple says the main goal is fundraising.

"We fundraise for 12 different Nodaway County local organizations.  Our goal is $85,000.  That is our primary function."

Whipple adds the funds raised during this year's campaign will be used to support the partnering agencies in Nodaway County.

"They will be strictly used for our 12 partner agencies.  Like I said, they are all Nodaway County organizations."

The 2018-2019 partner agencies include Big Brothers Big Sisters of Nodaway County, Community Services, Inc. of Northwest Missouri, the Crisis Pregnancy Center, education and recreation for individuals with disabilities, Girl Scouts of Northeast Kansas and Northwest Missouri, Health Emergency Lifeline Program, The Ministry Center, Nodaway County 4-H Council, the Nodaway County community building, the Nodaway County Senior Center, Nodaway County school nurses and the Pony Express Council Boy Scouts.
