Northwest Winefest returns bigger and better this weekend

The Northwest Winefest returns to Mound City, Missouri this weekend. There will be vendors, wine enthusiasts, live entertainment and more. Most of the wineries involved this year are winners in Missouri's Governor Award Winning Wines. Coordinator for Northwest Winefest Marilyn Alldredge says this is the biggest fundraiser for Northwest Missouri Enterprise Facilitation.

"We provide confidential services to anyone wanting to start up a new entrepreneurship or small business in six counties.  We have to have money to pay the facilitator who goes out and visits with them.  It doesn't matter if it's once or 50 times; it's always free to them."

Alldredge adds there are a lot of wines to be tasted.

"We will have 11 wineries (Missouri wines) coming.  They each wil have 4 or 5 different wines.  Anyone that comes can pay their $25 and will get a free wine glass and will be able to sample as many of those as they want."

The event runs from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday at Griffin Park in Mound City, Missouri. For booth or ticket information call 660-744-3146.
