Cheyenne Nelson to perform in benefit concert

The Maples Repertory Theatre in Macon, Missouri will be hosting a benefit concert on Saturday.
The benefit concert is called An Evening with Cheyenne Nelson and features jazz, country, gospel and broadway standards. Nelson has been in many productions on the Royal stage including Reno Sweeny in Anything Goes, Miss Mona in Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, and Patsy Cline in A Closer Walk with Patsy Cline. Artistic Director for the Maples Repertory Theatre Todd Davison says the Repertory Theatre is excited to have Nelson.

"She volunteered to do a benefit concert for us, so we made plans for her to come back this fall.  So she's coming in for several days, and she's going to do this concert for us Saturday night.  She's an excellent singer, a very funny lady, and a great actor.  We're very happy to have her."

Davison adds Nelson will have a lot to offer for this benefit concert.

"Cheyenne is going to be performing with a little combo - some really talented musicians who are going to play along with her.  And a couple special guest vocalists also will come in to run a number or two.  So it's going to be a varied program of jazz, show tunes, and a little gospel.  It'll be fun for audiences.  People who know Cheyenne would love to hear her."

An Evening with Cheyenne Nelson will be held at the Royal Theatre in downtown Macon on Saturday at 7:30 pm. Tickets can be purchased by calling the box office or online at maplesrep.com/tickets.
