Clarinda City Council approves purchase of local property

The Clarinda City Council approved the purchase of a dilapidated property in town at their meeting Wednesday night.

The property is located at 423 East Garfield Street. Clarinda City Manager Gary McClarnon says the property will be beneficial to future projects.

The city plans to tear the property down to make way for use for a future street project. The council also approved changes to the employee handbook during the meeting.
