Iowa resident sentenced in connection with high speed chase in Nodaway County

A 36-year-old Spencer, Iowa resident has been sentenced in Nodaway County Circuit Court in connection with a high speed chase on March 27. Nodaway County Prosecuting Attorney Bob Rice says Amanda Rose Morriss was charged with two counts of assault in the fourth degree and one count of resisting a lawful stop creating a substantial risk of serious physical injury.

Rice says the chase began after Morriss drove her SUV at a high rate of speed through a Missouri Department of Transportation work zone in Nodaway County. Rice says Morriss was sentenced to two years jail time in connection with the incident.
