The St. Joseph Health Department's Animal Control and Rescue division is reporting record numbers of shelter residents.
In response to the increased numbers, the Friends of the Animal Shelter of St. Joseph are holding a half off event for dogs and cats adopted through tomorrow. Humane Educator with the Animal Control and Rescue division Jennifer Loomis says the shelter is almost at capacity.
To adopt a shelter animal an application must be completed. For more information, call 816-271-4877.
