Arrests made in officer-involved shooting

Arrests have been made following an officer-involved shooting Monday in Daviess County.

According to a release from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 52-year-old Elmer Martin Sorrell of High Ridge, Missouri, and 55-year-old Lisa Ann Legge of Washington, Missouri, are in police custody facing several charges each, stemming from a home invasion in Harrison County Monday. Public Information Officer Sergeant Jake Angle says the Patrol was tipped off to a vehicle involved in the home invasion which was headed southbound on Interstate 35.

Sorrell was taken to a Kansas City-area hospital, where he is currently in stable condition and guarded. Sorrell faces felony charges of first-degree assault, armed criminal action, unlawful possession of a firearm, stealing a firearm, stealing $750 or more, and resisting and interfering with an arrest.

Legge, who escaped briefly on foot, was apprehended a short time later, not far away. She is incarcerated at the Harrison County Sheriff's Department facing felony charges of first-degree armed robbery, first degree burglary, and stealing.
