The Nodaway County Historical Society is hosting a program on Native American Heritage at 2 p.m. this Sunday at its museum located at 110 North Walnut Street in Maryville.
The program was originally scheduled for September, but had to be postponed due to illness. Marla Burnsides will present the program about her time spent living close to the reservation near White Cloud, Kansas. Burnsides will also share stories and show artifacts handed down to her by her grandmother, who was a member of the Ioway tribe.
The Ioway was one of the first Indian tribes to come through Nodaway County.
