A collaborative Coats for Kids project in Nodaway County begins Monday and runs through October 13. Any coat collected will go to children in need in the community. Nodaway County Prosecuting Attorney Robert Rice is one of the organizer's of the event and says Community Services is one of the benefactors of the coats and will help distribute them.
The Maryville Knights of Columbus, Today's Civic Women, the Nodaway County Commission, the Nodaway County Prosecutor, 4th Circuit Presiding Judge Roger Prokes, the Nodaway County Sheriff, the Maryville Department of Public Safety, the Missouri State Highway Patrol -- Maryville Zone Office, and the Northwest Missouri State University Police Department are collaborating for the project.
Rice says you can drop off a coat with any police officer or stop by the Nodaway County Courthouse. He adds that he hopes the effort collects at least 1,000 coats for kids in Nodaway County.
