Damage from Hurricane Irma has created one of the largest power outages in recent history. Among power companies assisting those in need in Florida is a contingent of works from Kansas City Power and Light.
Spokesperson for KCP&L Rebecca Galati says workers began heading to Florida in advance of the storm. Galati says KCP&L is a member of the Midwest Mutual Assistance Group, an organization which helps utilities facing natural disaster recovery throughout the year.
