Northwest Medical Center/Heartland Partnership

Two healthcare facilities in northwest Missouri announced this morning an operational agreement of partnership. Northwest Medical Center in Albany, Missouri and Heartland Health and Mosaic Life in St. Joseph have arrived at a partnership structure being called an integration and not an acquisition. President and CEO of the Northwest Medical Center in Albany, Jon Doolittle, says the mission of the hospital will remain the same.

Doolittle adds employees of the Northwest Medical Center should not be affected by the partnership when it becomes official on Dec. 29. Heartland Health will expand services offered in Albany through the construction of a Mosaic Life Care Center connected to the existing hospital. Two town hall meetings are scheduled this week to explain the partnership to the Albany community, tonight and Thursday night beginning at 5:30 at the First Baptist Church.
