Riggs Sworn Into Council Seat

The Maryville City Council's newest member has officially been sworn in.

Jerry Riggs takes over the council seat of former councilman Glenn Jonagan who resigned in June. He was sworn in at City Hall Friday morning. Riggs was appointed by the council during a special session held Monday, July 14. Riggs says councilman Jeff Funston told him of the available council seat.

Riggs is a former council member and is a partner in the accounting firm of Marsh, Espey & Riggs. He says he wants to help shape the city that he has lived in for so long.
