The Nodaway County DWI Task Force will be holding a sobriety checkpoint in Nodaway County during the month of August.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, impaired driving results in more than 10,000 fatalities annually.
Nodaway County Sheriff's Department Sergeant Jamie Vicker says the checkpoints are intended to make the roads safer for everyone.
Vicker says the checkpoints are held nearly every three months in an effort to reduce impaired driving in the area.
The DWI Task Force appreciates the cooperation from motorists during the checkpoints, and reminds motorists to designate a driver.
