July 24, 2014MARYVILLE, Mo. | By: John Coffey
Missouri Governor Jay Nixon was in Maryville this morning meeting with Nodaway County Soil and Water District Board members and community leaders.
Nixon held a roundtable discussion on legislation passed by the General Assembly on the last day of the session which he says would reduce state and local revenues by 776 million dollars annually, including 5 million dollars from the state's soil and water conservation districts. Nixon vetoed the legislation and is urging citizens to contact their local state representatives and senators to persuade them not to override his vetoes.
