May 19, 2014ST. JOSEPH, Mo. | By: Snyder
An old voice in St. Joseph was heard again for the first time in almost a year on Saturday, and with it came new life. The Voices of America men's a cappella chorus of St. Joseph performed their show "It's a Brand New Day for V-O-A" on Saturday night.
The Voices of America has been a long standing member of the St. Joseph Community, but not always under the same name, or direction. New director, Steve Scott, recognizes that the chorus is much different now than it was, but he thinks the change now is for the better.
With this new music, show chairman and Vice President of Marketing, James Fisher, says the Voices of America are getting away from traditional barbershop music, and finding ways to entertain all crowds.
Other acts joined the recent Voices of America show including top ten quartet McPhly, chapter quartet BassLine, and collegiate medalist quartet, The Brovertones.
Voices of America's next show will be at a District Contest in October.
