After the first week of Spring turkey season, the harvest numbers indicate a strong start to the 2014 season for the state of Missouri.
Holt County Conservation Agent, Anthony Maupin, says it’s been a far better start to this season compared to last year.
Turkeys taken in the Northwest District are up 12 percent over last year.
According to the Missouri Department of Conservation, there have been three firearms-related incidents during the first week.
Maupin encourages everyone to wear hunter orange while hunting.
