Field Day Offered for Managing Loess Hills Timber and Prairie

The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) will offer a Loess Hill Timber and Prairie field day Saturday.

The field day will split between a morning session and an afternoon session. During the morning session, the focus will cover timber stand improvements and experts will talk about timber sales and how thinning stands can benefit tree health and improve habitat for deer and turkey. The afternoon session will focus on restoring and maintaining loess hill prairies.

Holt County Conservation Agent, Anthony Maupin, says it's important to maintain your timber and forest area.
