Clarinda City Council Approved Budget Amendment

At the latest Clarinda, Iowa City Council meeting, a public hearing was held for a proposed amendment of the current budget for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2014.

Clarinda City Manager, Gary McClarnon, says the council approved an amendment this year for the city's enterprise funds which include water, sewer, and storm sewer.

The City of Clarinda also recently held its annual city wide clean-up. This year's clean-up cost $10,600 which is just short of last year's total. McClarnon says he is happy with the total outcome of this years clean-up.

Other actions taken by the Clarinda Council included granting permission to the Glenn Miller Birthplace Society to close off and occupy part of the square for the Glenn Miller Festival on June 12, 2014.  The Council also gave approval for the June 15, 2014 Flight Breakfast and Air Show at Clarinda Municipal Airport-Schenck Field.
