Two other pools in Saint Joseph have yet to schedule an opening date. Hyde and Krug Park will remain closed due to the lack of required number of lifeguards.

The Saint Joseph City Council recently approved a hourly pay increase for lifeguards and minimum age is 15. Requirements to be a lifeguard include American Red Cross Lifeguard certification, along with CPR, AED, and First Aid Certifications.

For more information on becoming a lifeguard, contact the aquatic recreation department at 816.271.5519.
