Public Safety Department Warns Against Scams

A number of recent scams in Northwest Missouri has officials warning residents to be careful.
Most of these reports claim the shakedowns start over the telephone.
Maryville Public Safety Director, Keith Wood, says there are a variety of different scams.

Wood adds that much of the information used in fraud is gathered from social media outlets.

Wood reminds all residents, if a deal seems to good to be true, it probably is.
