Maryville School District Proposes Bond Issue

Maryville school district patrons will be going to the polls tomorrow to decide a $10.25 million  no-tax increase bond proposal. The bond issue is phase three of a building plan started in 1999 with the construction of a new middle school. Phase two included improvements to the high school and elementary school between 1999 and 2004.
Phase three would fund a new performing arts center, secured entrances to all schools, a new kitchen and common area in the elementary school, as well as a new high school practice gymnasium.

Linthacum says several studies of the school district need's indicate a new performing arts center would be widely used.
