A Livingston County Sheriff's deputy escaped injury after hitting a deer while responding to an emergency call. According to a release from the sheriff's office, Deputy Jay Cooksey was responding to a home intrusion call Friday night when a deer ran in front of the pickup he was driving. The Dodge Ram was equipped with a push bumper for additional safety. Sheriff's officials believe the bumper limited damage to the vehicle. A different deputy responded to the intrusion call. The Missouri State Highway Patrol investigated the incident. The sheriff's department will review their final report once that is completed.
